The 12-house system is a symbolic map of your life, based on the sun’s journey across the sky over the course of a single day.

From sunrise to sunset and into the night, the sun moves through different phases — rising, peaking, descending, and disappearing before beginning again. Astrology takes this natural rhythm and translates it into the structure of human experience.

At the moment of your birth, this cycle is captured in your natal chart. The point rising on the eastern horizon — your Ascendant — marks the beginning of the first house. From there, the sky is divided into twelve houses, each representing a distinct area of life and stage of development.

Together, the houses form a continuous cycle: from the emergence of identity, to engaging with the world, to reaching visibility and purpose, and finally into release, integration, and renewal.

Each house shows where something happens in your life, while the sign within that house reveals how it unfolds.
