Weekend Workshop: 


"Awaken Your Inner Power: A Weekend of and Transformation"


Overview:


Dive into a weekend of self-discovery, balance, and empowerment through the lens of yogic science. Explore the Gunas (qualities of nature), Nadis (energy channels), and the wisdom of the Yamas and Niyamas while integrating modern nervous system regulation practices. This immersive experience includes energizing and calming yoga classes, deep reflective work, and actionable insights for transformation.


Workshop Goals:

  • Understand and apply yogic principles like the Gunas and Nadis to realign your energy and live an empowered life.
  • Balance your nervous system through yoga, breathwork, and meditation.
  • Embrace physical, mental, and emotional growth through dynamic Hatha Flow and Yin yoga practices.
  • Strengthen the connection to your authentic self with tools for ongoing transformation.


Day 1: Balancing Energy and Awakening Awareness


Theme: Exploring the Gunas ( The Gunas are considered the primary dynamic forces of Nature, as they represent the principles of activity and dynamism (rajas), inertia (tamas), and harmony (sattva)


Duration: 8 hours (including breaks and meals)


Morning Session: Understanding and Awakening Energy (3 hours)


Welcome and Intention Setting (30 minutes)

  • Overview of the workshop and introduction to the Gunas:
    • Sattva (Harmony): The state of balance and clarity.
    • Rajas (Activity): The quality of energy and movement.
    • Tamas (Inertia): The state of heaviness and stagnation.
  • Discussion: Identifying dominant Gunas in your current state and life.


Strong Yoga Class: Energizing Rajas (75 minutes)

  • A vigorous Vinyasa flow to channel Rajas energy constructively and build strength.
  • Key Poses: Warrior II, Crescent Lunge, Crow Pose, Camel Pose, and Wheel Pose.
  • Focus on transitions between poses to cultivate awareness and dynamism.


Break (15 minutes)


Breathwork: Nadi Shodhana and Kapalabhati (30 minutes)

  • Alternate Nostril Breathing (Nadi Shodhana) to balance the Ida (cooling) and Pingala (heating) Nadis.
  • Skull Shining Breath (Kapalabhati) to energize and clear mental fog.


Lunch Break (60 minutes)


Afternoon Session: Reflection and Integration (3 hours)


Workshop: Exploring the Nadis (45 minutes)

  • Explanation of the three primary Nadis:
    • Ida Nadi (Feminine Energy): Intuition, cooling, connected to the moon.
    • Pingala Nadi (Masculine Energy): Action, heating, connected to the sun.
    • Sushumna Nadi (Central Channel): The pathway of balance and awakening.
  • Journaling activity: Reflecting on your energetic imbalances and how to realign.


Break (15 minutes)


Yin Yoga Class: Cultivating Sattva (90 minutes)

  • A slow-paced practice focusing on hip openers, twists, and forward folds to release tension and bring harmony.
  • Key Poses: Butterfly Pose, Dragon Pose, Pigeon Pose, and Supported Child’s Pose.
  • Incorporate breath awareness to soothe the nervous system and connect to Sushumna.


Closing Meditation: Anchoring Sattva (30 minutes)

  • Guided meditation to envision balance and clarity within the mind-body connection.


Day 2: Realigning Purpose and Integration


Theme: Applying the Yamas, Niyamas, and Nervous System Regulation

Duration: 8 hours (including breaks and meals)


Morning Session: Purposeful Action and Harmony (3 hours)


Opening Reflection and Discussion (30 minutes)

  • Review the Yamas (ethical disciplines) and Niyamas (personal observances):
    • Yamas: Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truth), Asteya (non-stealing), Brahmacharya (moderation), Aparigraha (non-possessiveness).
    • Niyamas: Shaucha (cleanliness), Santosha (contentment), Tapas (discipline), Svadhyaya (self-study), Ishvarapranidhana (surrender).
  • Journaling: Which Yama and Niyama resonate most with your life?


Strong Yoga Class: Activating Sattva and Tamas (75 minutes)

  • A balanced practice incorporating dynamic and grounding poses to stabilize energy.
  • Key Poses: Tree Pose, Warrior III, Half Moon Pose, and Wide-Legged Forward Fold.
  • Focus: Finding steadiness and clarity in transitions.


Break (15 minutes)


Breathwork: Bhastrika and Deep Belly Breathing (30 minutes)

  • Practice Bellows Breath (Bhastrika) to invigorate the mind and body.
  • Transition to slow belly breathing to stimulate the vagus nerve and bring calm.


Lunch Break (60 minutes)


Afternoon Session: Empowerment and Long-Term Alignment (3 hours)


Workshop: Neuroplasticity and Yogic Practices (60 minutes)

  • How yogic practices rewire the brain for resilience and balance.
  • Practical strategies for integrating yoga, breathwork, and meditation into daily life.


Break (15 minutes)


Yin Yoga Class: Releasing Tamas (90 minutes)


  • A restorative sequence to release deeply held physical and emotional tension.
  • Key Poses: Reclining Bound Angle Pose, Seated Forward Fold, Legs Up the Wall, and Savasana.
  • Integrate mindfulness to enhance relaxation and inner awareness.


Closing Circle and Final Meditation (30 minutes)


  • Group sharing of takeaways and reflections.
  • Affirmation: "I am balanced, empowered, and aligned with my highest self."


This weekend workshop is designed to help participants embody their inner power through the wisdom of yogic science and neuroscience. By balancing dynamic and calming practices, attendees will leave feeling aligned, empowered, and equipped for a lifelong journey of transformation.

Ruby opened me up figuratively and literally in a series of one-to-one yoga sessions across about 18 months.  During our sessions (and outwith) I felt that she was focused on me and had a real compassion for me.  There was so much more to our time together than the 90 minutes of yoga practice. The time that Ruby took before and after our sessions to hear me and advise me led eventually into some 3 months of formal coaching.  I would describe that coaching as being formative for the many positive changes that I have achieved during and since that time.
